A small group from the Westshore Forum recently attended a film first released in 1928. Nope, that is not a typo. The name of the film is Metropolis and it was an interesting, albeit long, look into early motion pictures.
Metropolis is a silent film which deals with the strife between the educated and working classes of the industrialized world. It was fascinating to see the film’s take on this and even more especially so since this was a German movie filmed before the advent of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party’s popularity. Additionally, just seeing the special effects of 1928 and filming technique was fascinating. All in all, the Westshore Forum is pleased to have and offer such cultural experiences.
