Who are we?
We are college students and people early in their careers. Some are musicians, some are in the financial industry, some are in sales, right now, there are even those of us looking for jobs. Some of us are single and some of us are married. We live in towns of the “West Shore” such as Lakewood, Westlake, Avon Lake, Avon, and North Ridgeville. But we are all people in their 20’s and 30’s seeking to meet new people and have fun.
How did we form?
The idea of the Westshore Forum emerged out of a discussion between friends who saw a need for community and social events for young adults (those in their 20’s and 30’s) in the western suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio.
What is a forum?
The word “forum” has lately taken on a more academic connotation but in ancient times a forum was a gathering place. It was the heart of the community, not only a market-place of goods, but a market-place of ideas and a place for friends to gather together.
What does Westshore Forum do?
Ironically, while communication is easier and easier and while the the world is becoming smaller and closer, individuals are becoming more isolated. There isĀ a lack of local community and friendships. Our idea is simple. We seek to facilitate good discussion, fun events and real friendships by setting up social events. In effect, we want to provide a modern-day forum for young adults of the Westshore. We have held events from things as sinple as a game-night to a superbowl party and look forward to BBQ’s and outside events when the weather permits them. Take a look at our upcoming events on the calendar. We would like to invite you to join us!
Faith and Outreach
Faith is also an important component of many in the Westshore Forum. We are officially sponsored by St. Barnabas Church in Bay Village, Ohio. This provides opportunities to not only worship and growth as those who seek Jesus but also gives us the ability to reach out charitably to the West Shore area. For more details on this aspect of who we are follow this link to our Faith and Outreach page.
